Future Music April 2010 : "Big and bold with plenty of punch, a fantastic mic. You could be mistaken for thinking you were holding a well-preserved original. The finish is excellent and it feels substantial. On vocals using a mixture of cardioid and omni patterns the result was excellent. Great detail, as smooth as silk and very easy to EQ. It's so well balanced across the spectrum... Powerful lows, warm mids and no nasty overtones even close-up. On acoustic guitar the NR47 really shone. Possibly the best depth I have ever heard without any lack of mid presence and a lovely smooth top.
Sound on Sound Magazine : "The NR47 is a fine-sounding mic in its own right...smooth and refined, with a nice sheen at the high end and a full-bodied bottom end. The mid-range is fast, detailed and clear but not overly ‘valvey’, while the bottom end exhibits a warm and full-bodied character that is flattering to most sources, especially vocals. I rarely felt the need to equalise the mic within mixes. It possesses a very usable vintage sound character. The NR47 delivers exactly the kind of sound you’d expect, large-scale, weighty presence and mellow.
