These are low-quality MP3s, the mic sounds even better in 24 bit or analogue.
"Wasting my time" is from Finnish RnB groovers "Moodz". They used a classic Retro MKI on vocals, accordion and gtr ambience. Nice work guys...a lovely NR47 would suit your singer very nicely...... I hope you like the Newmann Mastering on this now...although it's only from mp3...not wav file.
" B the same " is from the very talented Elliot Macauley who bought a mic and used it on this. He also asked us to master the track so of course...we did... Check him out at : http://www.myspace.com/outfit.macauley
"Amerikka" came in from Finnish powerpoppers, Pexit. They used a Retro on vocals, guitar and drum ambience and their comments are on the Feedback page. They were very pleased with it, in fact they bought another one. Finland is now in stereo !! Find them here: http://indiestore.7digital.com/pexit/
The vocal clip was sent in by Joost, producer of Netherlands band Fivelastwords, recorded flat, no effects through an M-Audio FastTrack Pro USB interface.
"Is It Wrong" is by British maestros of ambient-chillout, The Sound Mirrors, the vocal and the Hammond organ ( Korg Triton Extreme through a Leslie 145 ) were recorded with Newmann Retros, flat, no eq, the vocal through a Universal Audio LA-610 just for a touch of compression. The singer loved the sound dry but asked for a touch of bright reverb (Lexicon mpx-200) and was delighted.
Poema del renunciamiento and the Toyota ad were sent in by international voice-over artist Fabian Toro. He's in Ecuador at www.torovoiceover.com
"Matchbox" was recorded by southern boys, The Dangers and mastered here by us. Retros were used on the vocal, kick and stereo drum-room ambience. The guys recorded 4 tracks at the excellent Yellow Fish Studios using the Newmann on the vocal for three of them, and a lovely original U47 (see photo-gallery) on one track...so we won the shoot-out 3-1 ! Take that Germany!! The desk was an amazing Raindirk Symphony but no eq was needed, just lots of Kronenberg.........
